Join the growing community of organizations and individuals that are planning events and activities this year to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of "the Greatest Generation's Greatest Day" - August 14, 1945 - the day World War II ended and America began laying the foundations to ensure a better future for their children and their children's children. The Chennault Aviation and Military Museum will be hosting an event to honor the 70th anniversary at the NELA War Veterans Home.

Mardi Gras in Monroe-West Monroe

 

Join us in Monroe-West Monroe for our 2015 Mardi Gras. The day is full of family fun and Mardi Gras adventures. Below you will find the schedule of events for Saturday, February 7!

Schedule of Events

9:00 am to 3:00 pm - Twin City Mardi Gras Cook-Off
Kick-off Mardi Gras with a cook-off at the University of Louisiana at Monroe in the Grove.

10:00 am to 4:00 pm - Mardi Gras at the Market
The Downtown RiverMarket will host the first annual "Mardi Gras at the Market" in downtown Monroe with music from Nathan & the Zydeco Cha Chas, family friendly events and great shopping throughout the day! Click HERE for the complete schedule.
 
10:30 am - Krewe of Janus Children's Mardi Gras Parade
Complete with beads and floats and Mardi Gras fun at Pecanland Mall's Center Court. Registration begins at 9:30 am and the first 100 participants receive a goody bag!
 
1:00 pm - 9th Annual Krewe of Paws Mardi Gras Pet Parade
See a twist on the traditional Mardi Gras festivities with pets of all sorts in costumes and floats, and of course plenty of beads along their parade route in Antique Alley! If you are interested in entering your pet, please see the registration information on our Calendar of Events Listing Page.

5 pm to 9 pm- Downtown River Jam
Enjoy a musical performance from Danny Lee and Dave, food, and spirits in Bry Park in Downtown Monroe along the parade route.


6 pm - Krewe of Janus Mardi Gras Parade
Join us for Mardi Gras fun in Downtown West Monroe and Monroe as lighted floats and marching bands parade through the Twin Cities.
